The Galaxy S25 Edge is official!

On January 22, 2025, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Then, just a few months later, on May 12, the Korean tech giant added a fourth model to the mix – the Galaxy S25 Edge.

Samsung is all about sleek design with this one. The Galaxy S25 Edge taps into the growing trend of slimmer flagships, measuring just 5.8mm in thickness. That is a lot thinner than the standard S25 and it's creating some buzz – especially since Apple is rumored to be launching an even thinner iPhone 17 Air later in 2025.

Under the hood, the S25 Edge rocks the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset as the rest of the S25 series, so you are getting top-tier performance across the board. On the back, you will find a dual-camera setup: a main wide camera and a second ultra-wide lens.

As for the display, the S25 Edge doesn’t skimp – it's got a generous 6.7-inch screen that is perfect for media consumption and gaming.

Samsung officially revealed the Galaxy S25 Edge on May 13, 2025, at a special event. The phone hit stores on May 30.

The Galaxy S25 Edge starts at $1,099.99, positioning it between the Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra in terms of price. Here is how the storage options break down:

Samsung has equipped the Galaxy S25 Edge with a dual camera system, starting with the 200 MP main sensor, which is the same as the one found on the S25 Ultra. While the lens is different, you are still looking at a similar level of quality.

This wide lens continues the Galaxy S series’ iconic camera legacy while stepping up Nightography. With its ultra-high resolution and large pixel size, you get sharper, brighter shots, with over 40% improved brightness in low-light situations.

Also, there is a 12 MP ultra-wide sensor with autofocus, adding flexibility for detailed macro shots. For selfies, the S25 Edge keeps the 12 MP front camera from the base Galaxy S25.

Samsung is making a bold design statement with the Galaxy S25 Edge and it is all about that ultra-thin profile. At just 5.8mm thick and weighing only 163g, this is the slimmest Galaxy phone right now – but it still brings pro-level performance in a sturdy, premium build.

The titanium frame and optimally curved edges strike a clean balance between style and strength, staying true to the Galaxy S series design language while pushing the boundaries of what a slim flagship can look and feel like.

Durability hasn’t been sacrificed either. The front is protected by the new Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, a tougher glass ceramic that keeps the display both sharp and strong. And with an IP68 rating, the Galaxy S25 Edge is ready to handle water and dust like a champ.

The Galaxy S25 Edge comes with a 6.7-inch display – perfectly placed between the smaller 6.2-inch Galaxy S25 and the bigger Plus model. It is a solid middle ground for anyone who wants more screen without the extra bulk.

As expected from a flagship, you are getting a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and the panel tops out at 2600 nits of peak brightness. That is more than enough for outdoor use. However, unlike the S25 Ultra, this one doesn’t come with Samsung’s new anti-reflective coating. If glare is a concern, you will need to grab an accessory film protector to help cut down on reflections.

When it comes to display performance, the S25 Edge doesn’t disappoint. It features advanced AI-driven image processing with ProScaler, offering a 40% improvement in display image scaling. Samsung’s mDNIe (mobile Digital Natural Image engine) also optimizes visuals for a richer viewing experience.

Even with its slim design, the Galaxy S25 Edge packs a 3900mAh battery – about the same as the base S25 model. While it is not the biggest battery out there, it still promises up to 24 hours of video playback, so you should get all-day battery life without much trouble.

Charging-wise it sticks with the familiar 25W fast charging from the Galaxy S25 lineup, letting you reach up to 50% charge in around 30 minutes. It also supports wireless charging, but that is capped at 15W, which might feel a bit slow compared to some competitors.

The Galaxy S25 Edge comes with Samsung’s One UI 7, which is built on Android 15. This update is a game-changer, bringing a fresh look and feel with a redesigned lock screen, a revamped recents/overview screen, a split Notification Panel and Quick Settings, a new battery icon, and AI-powered features.

Samsung also ensures long-term support for the entire Galaxy S25 series, including the Edge. The phone will receive major Android updates and security patches for a full seven years, meaning it’ll stay up-to-date and secure until 2032.

Of course, Galaxy AI is also on board, proving the Galaxy S25 Edge is slim but not simple.

Despite its sleek size, the Galaxy S25 Edge doesn’t cut corners on performance or features. Like the rest of the S25 lineup, it is fully loaded with Galaxy AI, which means features like:

Upgraded Google’s Circle to Search: It recognizes phone numbers, emails, and URLs on your screen, making it simple to call, email, or visit a website with just a tap.
Actionable searches with context-aware suggestions: Based on what you search, the Galaxy S25 Edge will suggest next steps, making it more intuitive and efficient.
Gemini integration: Hold the side button to access seamless interaction across Samsung, Google, and third-party apps like Spotify.
Writing Assist: Automatically summarize or format notes, even when you pull text from different apps.
Drawing Assist: Combine sketches, text, and images to bring your creative ideas to life with ease.
