I got the Edge + 2022 on a really Great Deal on the 8 GB RAM with 512 GB variant with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. I am just beginning to evaluate it now. I am disappointed that it is only "splash resistant" in where competitor devices have an IP 68 rating! The screen is awesome looking especially with the 144 Hz refresh rate enabled. The UI is very Snappy! I was fortunate to get no "bloatware" and supplied Motorola Apps are good. I am not used to using Google Phone or Messages, but they seem to be pretty good so far.
I also would have like to seen a better version of Gorilla Glass like Victus. Also having the ability to Boost the RAM and additional 2 GB is a good feature. The UI takes some getting used to. I wish there were more than ten notification tones and ringtones available. May have to download a "tones" app. I use as a Weather Spotter and Ham Radio aid and it is FAST! The battery, especially on standby is excellent. Pretty good with "screen on" time as well.
**So far as of 6/3/2023 the Edge+ (2022) is very stable and smooth. I am hoping for an Update soon to Android 13.**
It's taking Forever to get Android 13!!
I will continue to evaluate the Edge + 2022 and post my findings here!
- Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Processor.
- Descent display 144 Hz. Smooth.
- Dolby ATMOS Selections.
- Battery so far is Good on both usage and standby.
- Audio is Excellent. (Earpiece)
- Not Water Resistant, just light splashes.
- Speakerphone could be louder.
- Could be a brighter display, especially outdoors!
- Only a Limited amount of Ringtones and Notification Tones (10 Each).
- Waiting on Android 13 Update as of 6/3/2023. Taking Too LONG!
If you want a fast device, massive storage, at a great price, the Edge+ is great option. I also love the OLED screen.
For me, the fact that the case can be pried off without too much difficulty makes refreshing the battery straightforward of us mere mortals.
- - Fast & massive storage for a great price
- Camera is not competitive with iPhone & Samsung
